If you are craving something sweet, look no further! Sugar Biscuit Cakery recently opened in Fort Worth right off of TCU’s campus. Ratna, the owner, has been baking for many years and has decided to share her talent with the growing wedding scene in DFW. She specializes in custom cakes as well as cupcakes.
Before leaving her shop, she insisted that I try one of her cupcakes. I couldn’t even wait to get home before I tried it and it was absolutely amazing! Her flavors range from vanilla to red velvet to amaretto and of course her favorite, Italian cream with pecans! She believes that everything on a cake should be done by hand in her own shop to make sure the client is excited with every detail. Working in conjunction with TCU Florist gives her a lot of exposure to the beauty of flowers. I thought her sugar flowers were real!
Ratna never freezes any of her goodies and makes the cakes just a couple days before the event so they are as fresh as possible. Sugar Biscuit even customizes tastings by asking the client what flavors they want to try ahead of time. She then bakes a cupcake for each flavor and labels each one with beautiful icing. It’s $4 a flavor and you can choose as many as you want! If you decide to go with this “sweet” baker, she will work with you one on one to create your vision.
