Rachael and Adam are such a cool, fun, and funky couple. They love the ocean and scuba diving. They came to me asking me to plan a wedding somewhere that guests would not necessarily need passports, but that the wedding party could dive. We decided on Puerto Rico.
Rachael wanted a wedding overlooking the ocean but definitely did not want to have her ceremony on the beach. She wanted a location that would be fitting for the dress she had chosen.
We found the perfect venue in the Waldorf Astoria El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo. The paper products, from the save-the-dates to the invitations to the welcome bags all echoed the destination wedding theme.
And for the floral scheme, we wanted to bring the turquoise (reminiscent of the waters below) out along with the bright festive colors of yellow, pinks, reds and white. For the total wedding experience, we wanted to be sure we brought not only our photographer (thank you to Michelle Peyronet of Peyronet Photography for these amazing photos) but also the hair and makeup (Trisha Mayrick )artist as well as the DJ/Emcee. Watch for our blog about why we bring our vendors with us to these destinations.
The weather was more than beautiful as Rachael’s sweet grandfather presided over the ceremony, and there were no dry eyes by the end.
There was no shortage of great spots for romantic photos.
After a quick cocktail hour, the reception party began.
We had to work with the pastry chef on-site to create a cake that was similar to the style we would find in Texas. After much back and forth (and providing photos and ribbon), we came to a close approximation.
Not only did Randal give us a fabulous time during the reception, but we had a blow-out welcome party for all the guests rather than the traditional rehearsal dinner which included a pig-roast and cigar roller.
Congratulations Rachael & Adam!
