Taking a look outside my office in the heart of Deep Ellum, Dallas, might not be the view into the Arctic North of those in the top half of this country, but I am sure you are wondering why I am writing about heading into the “Frozen Tundra.” Put simply, it is time to plan your summer excursion. Do you remember the heat of summer? It was only a few short weeks ago. Can you remember the feel of your legs sticking to the leather upholstery? Do you remember gazing into the freezer for just a bit of cooling relief?
Through the month of November, we are going to be highlighting two “cooler” types of journeys that will give you some timely relief just when the temperatures rise (while making your friends jealous as you post those selfies doing the snowy excursions).
First, we will look into the routes of the Rocky Mountaineer, that luxury train experience that leaves from Seattle, Vancouver, and Calgary. For the adventurous traveler who wants to travel in style, either the Gold leaf or Silver leaf service will provide him with the visually stunning, exotic culinary experience he has always wanted. We will explore not only the routes but the destinations and hotels included in each journey.
Next, we will take a look at the Alaskan Cruises from across the range of cruise lines. There are so many options, we will explore the various ships as well as excursion and things to know before you go. Packing for an Alaskan Cruise is unique, and will be discussed.
As a girl born in the north (but a heart that is firmly planted in Texas), I miss a day or two of snow. I am looking forward to exploring these options to help me feel a little more at home while experiencing the 80-degree weather outside my window.
